Ballet training by the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus

Performing Arts training is a great way for everybody to improve physical coordination, rhythm, learn discipline, and to have a lot of fun. Your confidence and creativity levels will improve. It also gives any participant a chance to experience performing on stage as an ultimate dance challenge.

Each year the Silva Dance Academy offers the best of Classical, Modern and Contemporary performance pieces. Our dancers bring these performances to life. Working with great venues, our staging and dance repertoir will give you a thrilling performance that will be enjoyed not only by our performers but by the audience as well.

Levels & Age Groups

At Silva Dance Academy you can begin your dance career in Performing Arts at 3 years of age . We have a variety of classes in many dance styles, levels and age groups including adults. Classes continue year round. Our dance season begins the first week of September and ends with our annual Concert in June. In July and August the schedule changes for the Summer classes.

Dance Styles

You can take as many classes weekly as you wish of our different dance branches. Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Hip Hop, and DanceSport are available. The style of our dance classes are influenced by some of the greatest and most famous dancers and performers in the world. These different styles of dance are brought to you through our teaching staff, all of whom have a vast experience in performing these styles to audiences throughout the world.

Here at Silva Dance you will be able to experience many of the styles of your favorite dancers. We will help you to develop your own style. Please, check our schedule for available classes.

Certified Teachers

In order to keep our teaching level as high as possible we selected a group of highly qualified and certified teachers. This creates a safe, friendly and creative professional environment. Our Ballet teachers are certified by the Royal Academy of Dance, Imperial Society, and Cecchetti amoung others and follow their syllabi. These organizations provide the best possible training through their professional ranks, concluding with the professional aquistion of their teaching degrees. Having our teachers certified gives the Silva Dance Academy a solid dance core from which our students can develop

Classes 7 days a week

We're here for you !!! - "Seven Days a Week" -

Here at the Silva Dance Academy we try to encourage training as much as possible. You should be taking as many classes as you can to help you attain your dance goals. Scheduling is sometimes a little difficult. So we have adopted a class ethic of -"7 days a week"- to give you the opportunity to Dance -"7 days a week" You will find Performing Arts classes every day of the week including Saturdays and Sundays at our Academy. R.A.D. Ballet Teaching

Our R.A.D. (Royal Academy of Dance) Ballet classes additionally give every student chance to compare his or her skills with thousands of students in the World following curriculum of this largest examining and teacher education organization for classical ballet in the World. It gives the student a correct and safe foundation for their development in ballet . It is a proven method that has been adopted by 75 countries throughout the world. Here at Silva Dance we did not need any more convincing than to adopt the training and certified teachers of the RAD on our Staff and Dance Curriculm.

R.A.D. Examinations

Examinations are open to all students studying the Grade and major syllabus, offering them a challenge to demonstrate their understanding and knowledge of the work. We at Silva Dance recognize that dance students need some guarantees that what they are doing is correct and that their dance development and progression is going as it should. Examination or assesments are designed to give feedback to the students on their ability, dance training, and development . Many times examiners have come from around the world and are looking at our students with a worldwide perspective, not just within our studio. This aspect gives our students a stronger driving force to continually upgrade their dance ability just to be able to be in the mainstream of the dancers throughout the world .

It is not necessary that every dance student takes an assesment or exam. These exams are meant to be a general feedback and act as an assurance of your development as a dancer. As these examinations or assesments are performed dancers start to attain their own credentials which can eventually lead them to a professional dance career.

Performing & Competitions

Performing on stage is an unforgettable artistic experience. It gives everyone a chance to present their skills in front of an audience. At Silva Dance Academy we provide the dancer with many opportunities to do a variety of shows and dance competitions. Our last few Annual Concerts include: The Lion King, Coppelia, Cinderella and the Snow White.
